The Dorn Method is a gentle ‘fix in motion’ method designed to help alleviate back pain, scoliosis and headaches, caused by a difference in leg lengths or misaligned vertebrae. Leg length discrepancy can lead to an inclined or twisted hip which can cause an imbalance in the spine.
In a session, the Dorn Method practitioner will start by looking at the length of the client’s legs before moving on to the pelvic region and then the whole of the spine (lower, mid and upper back and neck). This is a gentle ‘fix in motion’ method which can be controlled by the patient. The client aids the Dorn Therapist by swinging a leg or the arms or moving the neck depending on the area being worked on while the practitioner gently encourages the joint back into its place. No force, clicking or cracking methods are applied.
Every step of the way can be taught to do as exercise at home to help reinforce the progress made during the session and improve the healing between sessions.
We often see clients coming in with scoliosis (curvature of the spine) and walking out with a straight back and considerably less or no pain at all.
The Dorn Method, named after the German founder Dieter Dorn, has been practiced and accepted in German-speaking countries for over 40 years.
The Dorn Method can help alleviate:
• Back pain
• Neck pain
• Hip/knee/ankle problems
• Jaw problems
• Shoulder problems and more
